The allegations of sexual misconduct by Harvey Weinstein keep rolling in, but the Hollywood producer is nowhere to be found…
According to TMZ, Harvey boarded a plane to Arizona last night to seek inpatient treatment for sex addiction and other behavioral issues, just one day after news broke that his wife, Georgina Chapman, was leaving him. Police were reportedly called to Harvey’s 22-year-old daughter Remy’s house yesterday before he left, after she called 911 and reported her father as being suicidal. Law enforcement confirmed that Harvey was at his daughter’s house when an argument between them ended up on the street. On source told Page Six of the incident that Harvey is NOT suicidal but QUOTE, "his heart is breaking for his kids,” adding that Remy QUOTE "overreacted" when she called the police Wednesday morning.
While Harvey hides out in Arizona, more of his victims continue to speak out. Cara Delevingne revealed yesterday that during a meeting with Harvey Weinstein about a film role, he invited her to continue discussions in his hotel room. While she was hesitant and uncomfortable with the idea of being alone in a hotel room with the producer, she was relieved when she saw that another woman was there. What Cara describes happening next sounds dow-right traumatizing. She wrote of the incident QUOTE, “ He asked us to kiss and she began some sort of advances upon his direction..I swiftly got up and asked him if he knew that I could sing. And I began to sing....I thought it would make the situation better....more professional....like an audition....I was so nervous. After singing I said again that I had to leave. He walked me to the door and stood in front of it and tried to kiss me on the lips. I stopped him and managed to get out of the room.” Cara said that when she landed the part in the film, she was overwhelmed with guilt and thought she only got it because of what happened.
Cara, like so many other of Harvey’s victims, was afraid to speak out until Harvey’s pattern of sexual misconduct was outlined in the New York Times article. Rose McGowan, who received a settlement after an incident that occurred with Harvey in a hotel room in 1997 at Sundance, has been one of the most vocal victims to come forward since the allegations came to light. Rose has been tweeting up a storm, calling out Hollywood for “knowing” about Harvey’s behavior and doing nothing about it. Rose was temporarily suspended from her Twitter account last night for sharing a private phone number in one of her tweets. Twitter released a statement that read in part QUOTE, “We have been in touch with Ms. McGowan’s team. We want to explain that her account was temporarily locked because one of her tweets included a private phone number, which violates of our Terms of Service. The tweet was removed and her account has been unlocked.” Suspended or not suspended, we’re sure Rose is not going to stop fighting for justice on this matter anytime soon.
