Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad today advised parents to avoid exposing their children to sugary beverages, particularly bubble tea drinks which have experienced a recent spike in popularity.
"Bubble tea, for instance, has a huge sugar excess," he told the media after opening the "Reduce sugar, live healthily" campaign at Giant in Subang Jaya today.
In response to a question on the drink, Dzulkefly said the sugar level in the bubble tea drinks is excessive and way beyond the ideal daily intake level.
