The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living said it has taken swift action to tackle the issue of sugar shortage in the state of Kedah.
In response to the concerns raised, its minister Salahuddin Ayub said the ministry had launched Ops Manis, a comprehensive operation involving 176 Enforcement Officers to monitor and resolve the sugar supply issue.
Since its initiation, Ops Manis has conducted a total of 214 inspections throughout Kedah, targeting wholesalers, retailers, and a sugar production plant.
The purpose of these inspections is to ensure compliance and address any issues related to the sugar supply chain.
