The government does not deny the existence of political involvement in protecting online gambling activities in this country, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail told the Dewan Rakyat today.

He explained that the 'political shield' over gambling activities ensures that those involved cannot be subjected to legal action, making it difficult for the police to take action.

Saifuddin stated that the online gambling platform providers can generate profits of around RM200 million per week.
