Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar revealed in Parliament today that there have been 39 lawmakers who have practiced party hopping since the 14th General Election.
The government is looking to amend the Federal Constitution today to eventually pave the way for legislation that would serve as the “anti-hopping” law.
The “anti-hopping” law is a critical component of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob's confidence-and-supply agreement with Pakatan Harapan.
It was supposed to have been passed by Parliament during the first sitting of the year, which has already ended.
