Let's take a closer look at life on the stilt homes of this shrimp fisherman village called Sg Lima on Pulau Ketam. This video showcases the residents, including many who 'balik kampung' to this village to have a good time with family and neighbors. The unique character of the mostly Hokkein community of this village can be seen at the way the prayer decorations and offerings are prepared. Even the hampers are well decorated creatively. And most impressive of all is the grand finale on the 9th day of the CNY when they worship the heavenly gods with a big bang. This video captures the spirit and mood of the village locals that are seldom seen by outsiders. And as the fireworks blossom in the night sky, some residents take a joy ride on the trawlers out to the straits into the night.
