Move over One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer is OFFICIALLY moving in on your number one boy band turf, because the 5SOS fellas broke a record that only 1D has previously held.
As we’re sure you know, the Australian band rocked the stage at the Today Show earlier this week, and as expected, they drew thousands upon THOUSANDS of fans. In fact, it was officially announced that 5SOS brought in the BIGGEST crowd for a Today Show concert EVER. They actually brought in MORE people than 1D when the British boy band performed back in 2012.
There were even reports that some people had been waiting for over FOUR DAYS for 5SOS’ Today Show performance. DANG! That is some dedication right there.
In addition to that exciting news, 5SOS’ self-titled debut album – that was released this week, by the way – shot to number one on iTunes in 71 countries. 5SOS’ take over doesn’t stop there, as they’ll be performing at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on August 24, and are one of the headlining acts for this year’s iTunes Music Festival in London.
We think calling them busy would be an understatement.
