Jamal distributes 'pay in Sekinchan

Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos visited Sekinchan on Tuesday night to distribute RM50 per person at a BN ceramah in the fishing village.
Attendees were also treated to a buffet as they listened to political speeches by BN leaders.
Jamal told Malaysiakini that the people who received the cash were all party campaigners who have assisted BN with campaign work including putting up flags, and the cash is payment for all the work they've done.
He stressed that this cannot be considered election bribery.

“Everyone here is a member of the BN election machinery, they have helped in putting up banners. I am the chairperson here. I give them wages. This is not a bribe,” he said.
Malaysiakini cannot independently verify whether the people who received the cash were members of the BN campaign team. The majority were not wearing BN clothes.
