Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos says he's donating US$1.8 billion (RM7 billion) to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) after watching videos of Bersatu leaders asking for public contributions.
Jamal adds that since he has contributed a large amount, Malaysians no longer need to donate to Bersatu.
Accompanied by his supporters, Jamal brought along a mock cheque with the amount of US$1.8 billion. He also showed a personal cheque with the same amount.
The actual amount deposited, however, was unclear.
