Cancel love. Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have unexpectedly SPLIT after two years of marriage.
And they’ve managed to keep it a secret from us since last year.
We’re gonna need need to watch The Notebook a few times after hearing this news: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have announced their divorce after two years of marriage and SEVEN years as a couple.
Jennifer’s publicist announced the news in a joint statement reading QUOTE, “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
Sounds like Jennifer and Justin want to make it clear there was no drama behind this divorce, and the two will remain friends. We’re not sure splits can be done “lovingly” but if anyone can, it’s Jennifer Aniston.
Their statement continued QUOTE, “Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly rom us, is someone else’s fictional narrative.”
The former couple is making it loud and clear they won’t stay for any rumors or speculation about their split. Buuut we’ve gotta do our job. It is interesting that they separated at the end of last year, yet they were seen on their annual New Year’s trip together in Mexico. In addition, the couple’s mansion was featured in Architectural Digest magazine on February 7th where Jen gushes QUOTE, “I look around at my husband and my dogs and our home, and there’s nowhere else I want to be.”
Despite all this, the couple have spent a lot of time apart over the past few months while working on separate film projects. So what happened here? Sources told E! News that it was likely their differing lifestyles and personalities that drove them apart, “He was a New York hipster that loved the alternative lifestyle and Jennifer was living a much more reclusive life.” The two first met in 2008 on set of Tropic Thunder, but started dating in 2011 after working on Wanderlust together.
