Former MyPPP president Tan Sri M. Kayveas said that the Election Commission (EC) should allow only locals to be fielded as candidates in future elections as he was referring to BN candidate Ramli Mohd Nor and Pakatan Harapan’s M. Manogaran who are not registered voters in Cameron Highlands. In response, EC chairman Azhar Harun said that the commission only handles the operation process of an election and not policy matters that are decided by the government.
