Keke Palmer blasts Kylie Jenner and the Kardashians for being inauthentic and giving in to social media pressures.
Today’s episode is presented by T-Mobile - America’s Best Unlimited Network.
For Keke, Kylie is a little TOO perfect.
Actress Keke Palmer sat down with Yahoo Beauty to promote her upcoming role on Berlin Station and her new YouTube series That’s the Gag. When the site asked Keke about how she stays true to herself, she got candid about owning her flaws and how she feels bad for the Kardashian women.
Keke believes that many people, including the Kardashians, have gone to great lengths to make themselves look perfect so that people on the Internet can’t bully them. Keke explained QUOTE, “In the sense of the Kardashians, it’s like I’m going to show you so much perfect and be everything a woman should be or everything a man would like or love. And I’m going to be exactly that so you can’t bully me anymore.” An example of the bullying she seems to be referencing is Kylie’s first appearance in the spotlight.
Keke went on to call out Kylie for being particularly inauthentic, “...you’ve had a young girl people have seen on television since she was a kid and they literally told her she was so ugly … the ugly person in the family. She went and did apparently everything the world deems as beautiful. The even crazier part is that everybody loves her for it.” However, Kylie continues to deny that she’s had any plastic surgery done on her body.
But Keke wasn’t done just yet. She expressed her concern for showing this generation of young girls that you will be praised for doing what society wants you to do: “You can be profitable for not being who you truly are.” We agree that Keke has a good point with that last part. But do you think she came for Kylie and the Kardashians TOO HARD? Or are you glad she is calling the sisters out for being inauthentic online? Tell us what side of this debate you are on, just leave a comment down below. And as always, I’m your host XXX XXX, I’ll catch ya next time.
