Kylie found herself in some hot water earlier week after posting a pic to her Instagram, in order to promote a waist trainer bundle for Waist Gang Society, that’s specifically for new mothers looking to lose their baby weight after giving birth. This promotional mirror selfie is coming just SEVEN WEEKS after Kylie gave birth to baby Stormi.
The bundle includes the waist-trainer, obviously, and slimming gel that is specifically designed to help women “snap back” to their pre-baby bod. Naturally, this upset some fans. 1.) because it’s pressuring new mothers to lose baby weight quickly and 2.) because waist-trainers can be harmful.
One fan who was upset by her post tweeted, QUOTE “My god is kylie still advertising waist trainers (NOW POST GIVING BIRTH) to teenage girls !!! how can u be so filthy rich and still sell out for something that is so dumb and could potentially perpetuate negative body image in young girls” While another user was more worried about the harmful effects it could have on her body, tweeting QUOTE “Waist trainers can harm your organs. Fast forward a century & doctors are still warning about wearing waist trainers, warning that they're not the best idea. They can put added & unwanted pressure on the midsection, limiting blood & oxygen flow 2 vital organs which can B dangerous.”
And this twitter user is correct. A professor of medicine at Boston University did tell Health.com QUOTE “The trainers can actually cause more bad than good. Acid reflux, loss of strength, and displacement of organs are all possible side-effects of waist training." This all sounds kind of scay, not going to lie.
If you are looking to buy yourself a waist-trainer, please use with caution! But right now I want to turn it over to you guys. What do you think about Kylie’s post? Are you upset by what she’s advertising? Let me know all your thoughts and feelings down in the comments below, and when you’re done with that, click right over here for why Camila Cabello just got SLAMMED for her Ellen performance.
