Kelly Clarkson is no stranger to harsh body shaming comments, but she’s once again proved that, just as age gets better with time, so do her epic clapbacks.
She may be a vocal powerhouse, but Kelly may want to consider taking up a profession in roasting trolls, because girl’s got quips for days.
Another day, another attempted attack of the Internet trolls, but Kelly Clarkson has managed to sum up her feelings on the issues all while completely shutting down one Twitter user in just four short words.
Just yesterday as Kelly was going about her day celebrating the birth of America, she tweeted a humble and appreciative message to everyone fighting for our country, saying QUOTE, “Thank u 2 every person in service 4 protecting all of us and cheers to every person who fought for us to experience freedom & independence," but one user just couldn’t seem to keep their unwanted and completely uncalled-for opinion to themselves, when they fired back writing, “you’re fat.”
Kelly then wasted no time in responding with a legendary clapback that may’ve just been good enough to be nominated for it’s own Grammy, as she quoted the user’s tweet, writing, “…and still fucking awesome.”
SHUT. IT. DOWN. Although the troll’s tweet has since been deleted, most likely on account of raging Kelly Clarkson fans coming for him, many of Kelly’s fans quickly came to her defense, and like us, were living for her response, as one Twitter user wrote back along with a GIF, saying QUTE, “Did y’all see @kelly_clarkson roast that troll just now?!” when another user responded to both those tweets, saying, “Don’t mess with the Queen from TEXAS!!!”
Unfortunately, Kelly has fallen victim to harsh comments about her weight ever since entering the public eye following her 2002 American Idol win, when even public figures have taken opportunities to attack her image, like Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace and Mike Gallagher, who dropped hateful comments saying that Kelly could, “could lay off the deep dish pizzas for a while,” and “holy cow did she blow up.”
But Kelly being the powerful fortress she is, has her own take on her weight, and it doesn’t involve one single outside opinion. She told Redbook Magazine back in 2015 that she just doesn’t obsess about her weight, which is why so many people probably do. She added QUOTE, “There are just some people who are born skinny and with a great metabolism – that is not me. I wish I had a better metabolism. But someone else probably wishes they could walk into a room and make friends with everyone like I can. You always want what someone else has.”
So there you have it – so the next time anyone out there tries to come for Kelly, do yourself a favor and maybe just don’t. But right now I want to know all your thoughts on Kelly’s troll takedown, so get to talking down here in the comments, and after that, be sure to click right over here to check out 10 more celebs who slammed body shamers.
