The MTV Movie Awards never fail to have an array of shenanigans so it was only appropriate for Kevin Hart and The Rock to make a rap about Leo’s unfortunate bestiality run in. This year marks the MTV Movie Awards’ 25th anniversary so when the show’s executive producer, Casey Patterson discovered that The Rock could rap, there was no question when it came to incorporating his skills into the show.
The rap kicked off honoring pop culture references that reigned supreme in 1992 because that was the year that marked the show’s conception. Kevin and The Rock rapped about throwback references like Justin Timberlake’s ramen hair back in the day before jumping into a recap of this year’s movies. They incorporated everything from Star Wars, to Deadpool, to Jurassic World, but it was Leo’s bear fight scene in the Revenant that took the cake. Adam Levine, Anthony Mackey, and Rebel Wilson all joined in on the opportunity to share their personal memories of where they were when Leo had an unfortunate meeting with bear destiny.
Good thing he won an Oscar for it. The rap was golden. Kevin and the Rock made a point to say QUOTE - “so now we’re here in 2016 to celebrate movies that you’ve actually seen” most likely as a little jab to the Oscars, but no doubt that it was all in the name of fun. Anyone else want a bear onesie now? Amazon, help us out.
