The seventh accused in the murder of Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Anthony Kevin Morais told the High Court here Tuesday that he was offered RM3.5m by former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to admit guilt.
S. Ravi Chandaran, 47, also told the court that the offer was made through a prisons officer and besides this, he also received an offer from Kevin Morais's younger brother, Datuk Richard Morais, to do the same.
The accused had also told the court that Dr Kunaseegaran offered him RM1.5mil in Dec 2017, making the total he would receive if admitted guilt at RM7mil.
Meanwhile, Najib has hit back at Bernama report over the case, claiming that the agency had used a “sensational and tabloidish headline” and would have led many to believe what was said about him.
