Kim Kardashian Says Kanye Didn't Know Her Name When They Met

Although we’d like to tell you that it was love at first sight for the larger-than-life duo Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, as it turns out, the reality star dished that Kanye actually had no idea who she was! Yeah, a world where someone doesn’t know who Kim Kardashian is? That’s hard to imagine… but their first encounter was a super long time ago, before the name ‘Kim Kardashian’ even appeared across magazine covers and trended on Twitter several times per week!
Kim recalled on the special QUOTE, “I met him I think in 2002 or 2003. He was recording a song with Brandy, and I was her friend. I vividly remember hanging out with him, and then they did a video together, so I’d see him a few times. He was asking his friends: ‘Who is this Kim Kardajan?’ He didn’t know what my name was.”
Luckily, Kanye was intrigued enough to find out who the socialite-turned-reality star Kim really was, and the pair got even closer around the time of Kim’s marriage to Kris Humphries, including up to and after their subsequent divorce just 72 days later.
Kim also revealed that it was right before she married Kris that her and Kanye started talking, but doesn’t regret her decision, adding that she believes the marriage was crucial in order to really figure out what she wanted. She said QUOTE, “After my breakup, I was feeling really low and down and he said, ‘Just come to Paris and see my fashion show.’ He jokes that he put on this whole fashion show just to get a date with me. So I went there and I stayed with him, and that’s where we started dating.”
Okay, so maybe Kanye didn’t know exactly who Kim was when they first met… but it sure does sound like he completely made up for it during their romantic Paris getaway, which turned out to be a real eye-opener for her.
Kim recalled feeling in awe of Kanye from the get-go, saying, “I swear from the moment I landed, I fell madly in love with him and I thought, ‘Oh my God, why didn’t I do this sooner?’ Like, this is what real life is like— love and fun and real support.”
Now, just over four years later, the happily married couple has two beautiful kids and one on the way. And THAT, my friends, is how every good story should end. So, what do you think?
