Kim Kardashian gives her first interview following Bruce Jenner’s historic segment on 20/20!
17 million people watched Diane Sawyer interview an emotional and candid Bruce Jenner, and now Kim Kardashian is ready to speak publicly! During a taped segment on The Today Show, Kim showed her unwavering support saying
“That's what life is about,” she said. “I don't know what life would be like if you always felt like you weren't yourself."
She DID say that it was very hard for her, the family, and the public to truly understand Bruce’s struggle. She said they were all taking family therapy and it was obviously going to be a hard adjustment. “We're really close ... We all really support him… We work out everything as a family and we have the best communication and we are so in sync with each other… We have each other to go through this experience, and I'm really grateful for that." As we all know, it was Kanye that helped open her eyes to what her former step dad was going through, and how living a life in a lie is not a life worth living. "I think as long as he is happy and he wants to live his life however he wants to live it, that just makes me happy and I support him 100 percent."
I for one am incredibly inspired by Bruce Jenner. What made his a laughing stock in the eyes of the media now makes him a hero. The Bruce Jenner we saw on 20/20 was more vulnerable, more articulate, and more likeable than the Bruce we saw for years on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. And I don’t doubt that his going public about his gender struggles will pave the way for more people to be able to do the same without living in shame. Kudos to Bruce.
