The high court today ordered former premier Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to come forward and testify as a witness in the defamation suit brought by Bersih 2.0 chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah against Sungai Besar UMNO Division Chief.
The High Court judge ruled in his chambers that Mahathir is a relevant witness following his comments on Bersih 3. Jamal had previously served a subpoena on Mahathir and five others in September last year.
Maria is suing Jamal for defamation over his claims in 2016 infiltrated by the Islamic State militant group.
