[KiniNews] Perikatan Nasional chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin said the increasing cost of living and prices of goods are crushing the poor and the people can no longer tolerate the situation.
Therefore, he urged voters in the upcoming elections for six states to treat the contest as a referendum against the Pakatan Harapan-BN coalition government.
“The situation is sufficient proof that the coalition government has failed to steer the nation out of the economic conundrum which is affecting lives, especially those from the low-income group,” he said.
“Turn the elections into a signal of the people’s anger with what is happening,” he added.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, DAP deputy secretary-general Nga Kor Ming said his party will go "all out" to help Umno candidates in the upcoming state elections.
Commenting on speeches at the Umno general assembly over the weekend, he said all parties in the unity government should focus on their efforts to ensure stability and not dredge up past problems.
