[KiniNews] The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court acquitted and discharged the late Daim Zainuddin of an asset disclosure charge today.

The court granted the acquittal following an application by deputy public prosecutor Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin for the case to be withdrawn.

Daim’s lawyer initially argued for the criminal court to continue with the case in spite of prosecutors not wanting to, and that in the alternative the deceased should be acquitted.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, Bersih has given the Anwar Ibrahim-led federal administration a grade of “D” in its mid-term evaluation, with the poor performance attributed to the coalition government’s failure to carry out significant institutional reforms.

In a presentation of what Bersih dubbed the government’s report card last night, the electoral reform group also ranked Anwar behind its predecessors Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Dr Mahathir Mohamad in fulfilling their reform promises.
