#KiniNews: KJ slams Umno's 'bogus motion' | This is why we were axed, suspended, says Hisham

[KiniNews] Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin launched a scathing broadside against Umno's top two following Putrajaya's leniency towards a breach of party rules.

In a video clip, Khairy said that Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail's decision to invoke Section 70 of the Societies Act 1966 indicated that the Registrar of Societies (ROS) had indeed ruled that Umno's decision to suspend the election for its top two leaders was invalid.

He said this meant that the rights for Umno members to choose a president and deputy president had been robbed by this bogus motion that was filed by Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan's division.

He added that it is embarrassing enough to come up with a motion to protect their own leadership, but the motion also violates the party's constitution.

Meanwhile, Hishammuddin Hussein has suggested that Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and those aligned to the latter suspended him and sacked Khairy Jamaluddin from the party as a pre-emptive measure to safeguard their respective positions.
