[KiniNews] MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki has confirmed that there are no plans to arrest former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad for now, citing an ongoing investigation.

“We have no intention to arrest him yet since the investigation is ongoing,” he told reporters after attending the launch of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy programme in Putrajaya today.

On April 25, Azam said the investigation against the former Langkawi MP was linked to MACC’s request for Mahathir’s sons, Mokhzani and Mirzan, to disclose their assets.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, the police have arrested another suspect in the acid attack against national football player Faisal Halim.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the man in his late 30s was arrested in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor late yesterday evening.
