In the latest salvo following the proposal by Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming that Chinese new villages be recognised as Unesco World Heritage Sites, Umno Youth leader has offered to teach him about the history of Malaya.

Dr Akmal Salleh said there was no need to discuss the proposal as Umno would still oppose to the idea.
Meanwhile Institute of Malay World and Civilisation lecturer Faisal Tehrani believes the idea of gazetting the selected Chinese new villages should be supported as it is a move that will preserve the history of these areas for future generations.
