Lai Foong Hailam Beef Noodles Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, KL Each mouthful was a delight. Thin strips of hor fun (flat rice noodles), tossed in a mixture of dark soysauce, shallot oil and pickled vegetables. There are 4 choices of noodles to choose from, namely lohshu fun, kuay teow, mee or mee hoon. In addition to herb stock and chopped preserved vegetables,the flavourful noodle dish is served with a choice of tender beef slices, intestines,tendons, tripe orbeef balls, all of which are daily made. The soup itself is cooked for a long time over a low fire thenight before.The soup here is based on an authentic 80 year old Hainanese recipe passed down byhis late grandfather with over 10 types of Chinese herbs and the aroma fills the air, the minute youenter the restaurant and personally selected by the owner. The humble beef noodle. Try to envision the ever so flavourful broth, topped with succulent chunks of beef slices over a generous bowl of noodles to make you go oooo… Truly, this is one of the real Hainanese beef noodle restaurants in KL city.
