MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the growth of Chinese schools in Malaysia was stunted during Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's tenure as Education Minister from 1986 to 1991. He also announced a contribution of RM300,000 to SJK(C) Sungai Long from the Chinese community.
