If you thought Little Mix’s song ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ was a huge diss towards Zayn Malik, well, wait until you get a load of their original lyrics for the song.
Okay, so you know how Perrie subtly called out Zayn in ‘Shout Out to My Ex?’ Well, the version released is pretty PG compared to what the singer really wanted to say.
When Little Mix’s latest single ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ first dropped, it caused quite the commotion. After hearing the song, everyone immediately concluded that Perrie’s first lines…
were definitely about her ex Zayn. But, little did we all know, the original lyrics for the girl group’s latest single were much, much worse. Thanks to News Australia, who managed to get a copy of an earlier version of the track, the lyrics also included a subtle diss towards Zayn’s new chick, Gigi Hadid.
If it were up to Perrie, the lyrics for the song would’ve been QUOTE, “Heard he been f**king some model chick, yeah that sh*t hurt I’ll admit, but f**k that boy I’m over it.” Wow, yeah, sounds like Perrie just needed to get all her feelings out on paper. But, as incredible as those lyrics were, at the end of the day, the girls ultimately decided to change the words to their song to something more PG.
When asked why the group made that chagne, Perrie answered QUOTE, “We had to make it clean. We didn’t want to have the parental advisory sticker on our albums and singles. Even though our fans are our age, 20 or over 18, we still have a lot of young fans. But it does feel good to swear, doesn’t it?” If you’re writing a diss song about your ex, I think swearing is a given.
Do you think Little Mix should’ve kept their original lyrics or do you like the current version they put out just the way it is? Let me know in the comment section below!
