And one of the friends we’ve been introduced to this new season of South Park is none other than Lorde!!
Alright, so just last week on episode 2 of this awesome show, yep – I’m a fan, viewers got a little taste of Lorde when the guys put together a party and asked Stan’s dad to use a connection to get Lorde to perform. Wow.
Yeah, now THAT was clearly Stan’s dad dressed as Lorde, apparently nobody knew… and the singing star turned into the focus of this week’s new episode, The Cissy, and we get the true story on Lorde. And one of the best moments is when Stan goes to his dad to ask a completely unrelated question, and he straight-up drops a bombshell.
Oh and we get the details on what Lorde’s actual song for the Mockingjay soundtrack was supposed to be – this is good.
In fact, we even got an inside look at how Stan’s dad gets the womanly voice of Lorde – thanks to autotune – after recording on his phone in the bathroom, gross. But here’s the biggest secret of them all.
Shocking, I know… basically, it was another awesome intersection of tv and pop culture, as can be expected from South Park. Oh, and the musician took to her Twitter page to react to the references, first calling it weird & cool, then adding that she doesn’t watch the show (what?!) but she heard that Sia was involved and someone’s mum said something nice about her, SCORE!
