South Park went there. Like they really went there. Last night’s episode tied up a lot of loose ends in a big holiday themed season finale, complete with roofies, Bill Cosby, jello, and Taylor Swift. Sounding creepy already isn’t it? Hard to explain the plot but a hologram version of Bill Cosby sings or better yet- ruins my favorite Christmas duet- Baby It’s Cold Outside alongside an animated Taylor Swift. Cosby tries to get Swift to drink some sort of drugged wine as they sing “It’s Snowing Out There.” There’s even a jello joke. If you’re too young to remember, Bill was once the face of j-e-l-l-o. Anyway, watch this.
Luckily, Taylor Swift does NOT end up raped by the now fallen actor. And the ruined legacy of Bill Cosby was NOT the only social commentary infused in the show. Tupac Shakur & Michael Jackson make cameos as the episode uses their characters to comment on the excessive force by white police on unarmed blacks in the wake of the Michael Brown and Eric Garner killings. Very clever episode I never thought Taylor Swift and Bill Cosby’s names would both be in the same headline but thanks to South Park, we shall forever be able to google articles appropriately titled “Bill Cosby tries to rape Taylor Swift... on South Park.
