Twitter Reacts To Calvin Harris Calling Out Taylor Swift: Are Fans Turning on Taylor?

Calvin Harris slammed ex Taylor Swift in a series of Twitter rants yesterday, and fans of both celebs wasted no time sharing their reactions to the feud.
So all hell broke loose in the saga that is Calvin and Taylor’s breakup yesterday, after her people confirmed that she actually wrote Calvin’s latest hit, “This is What You Came For”. The odd timing of Taylor’s camp waiting until NOW to confirm her collaboration with her former beau obviously struck a bad cord with Calvin, who then held NOTHING back on twitter.
Calvin ranted out all sorts of things, from claiming that Taylor and her team were trying to make him look bad, to suggesting that if she’s happy in her new relationship she should focus on that instead of trying to tear her ex boyfriend down. And the #SHADE didn’t stop there. He even claimed that Taylor had previously tried to QUOTE “bury” Katy Perry and others, and that he refuses to be the next guy on that list. It was so dramatic that it seemed like ALL of Twitter was watching the rant go down with utter fascination and excitement. And of course, the funny reaction memes and tweets came rolling in…
Fans tweeted all kinds of jokes --from Calvin adding Taylor’s picture to the “Burn Book” from the movie “Mean Girls”, to expressing their love of watching the drama go down with the classic gif of Jon Stewart ferociously eating popcorn. Even Katy Perry reacted to Calvin’s comment about Taylor trying to bury her, with a not-so-subtle gif of Hillary Clinton expressing a kind of “OH NO HE DIDN’T--BUT HEY, HE’S NOT WRONG” face, as well as a re-tweet from a previous post she had that said “
So does this mean that Taylor’s fans are turning on her? Probably not, because it seems like most of the reactions were to the drama itself, and less to Calvin somehow “outing” Taylor in any way. That being said, there were a slew of people claiming to be “Team Calvin” and the hashtag #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty started trending, with some users posting about their joy over Calvin’s takedown.
Despite the hashtag, we’re sure Taylor’s not too worried about any of this. Besides, he’s too busy being all loved up in Australia while new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston films his next Avengers movie there. As for why Calvin felt the need to cause up such a stir on Twitter--maybe he’s still bitter that she moved on to Tom Hiddleston so swiftly after their breakup. How public she’s been with Tom really does feel like the ultimate shade against Calvin, doesn’t it? But does that justify him getting so upset that Taylor’s camp merely confirmed that she wrote the lyrics to a pop song that he produced? Definitely not. There were rumors that Tay had written the song under a pseudonym ever since it came out, so it’s not like the confirmation came as any kind of shock to us. That being said, we have a feeling that now that Calvin’s gloves are off, this ugly breakup saga might not be fully over yet. Especially if he and Katy Perry decide to team up and write about their experiences…Not gonna lie though, whether you’re a Taylor lover or a Taylor hater, this story is just too good not to watch unfold.
