Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee perform “Despacito” at the 2018 Grammy awards. And I have one word to describe the performance: Twerk-fest.
“Despacito” is the international reggaeton-pop track that took over 2017, and while Justin Bieber was not present at the awards show to perform alongside Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, their high-energy performance still had everyone in the audience on their feet and dancing their hearts out.
Zuleyka Rivera, the 2006 Miss Universe winner who also starred in the music video for “Despacito”, joined the two singers onstage to lend some sexy dance moves and impressive twerking skills to the performance.
The backup dancers also raised the bar with their high-energy moves, including some very intense grinding all over the stage.
At the end of the song, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s performance was celebrated with a huge swell of applause from the audience, so it looks like they did pretty okay with Justin, after all.
