Once Upon a Time Miley and Liam we’re together in Malibu heaven…but now in her new single ‘Slide Away’, Miley is singing a very different tune. It’s honestly really sad!
What’s up guys, it’s Erin Robinson here with Clevver News and Miley dropped a new song last night where she gives us a little insight into her recent split with Liam Hemsworth ….. allegedly.
There are some pretty incriminating lyrics in ‘Slide Away’, and though Miley hasn’t put out an official statement confirming that the song was written about Liam, it’s pretty hard to imagine that it’s not.
Like in the top of the song when she sings:
I mean, she even tells him *allegedly* to go back to the ocean, I’ll go back to the city lights … AKA Los Angeles!
But in Liam’s defense, wasn’t it Miley that was spotted kissing Kaitlynn Carter by the ocean last week?
But I digress.
In the pre-chorus Miley sings “I want my house in the hills. Don’t want the whiskey and pills.”
This sounds like a reference to their Malibu home burning down last year, which was really hard on the couple.
Miley said that the event led to the couple tying the knot in an impromptu wedding last December.
And the pills and whiskey line? Well, there have been reports that Miley has had an issue with Liam’s partying. As you may know, Miley suffered from substance abuse in the past, so this is not a good mix to her cleaner way of living!
But in relationships it’s often a two way street – so maybe she is saying that they both negatively influenced each other’s decisions.
And this could have been going on for a long time.
Another line in ‘Slide Away’ is “Move on, we’re not 17. I’m not who I used to be. You say that everything changed. You’re right, we’re grown now.”
And if you remember, Miley was just 17 years old when she met Liam on the set of “The Last Song.”
The two started dating almost immediately and have been on and off for the past 9 years.
The timing for this song really is worth mentioning. 6 years ago next week, Miley released “Wrecking Ball”, which was also about her relationship troubles with Liam.
And after her little rendezvous with Kaitlynn last week, there’s been a Change.com petition circulating to get Liam to be the next bachelor.
I mean, ouch. They’re not even legally divorced yet, guys!
But I want to hear from you. This song is about Liam, right?? I mean it has to be. Do you think they’re right for each other? What do you think about those partying rumors? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
