Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Islamic affairs Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa said that enforcement on criminal acts under Shariah law is not a competition on who wants to do more.
He said he did not like the suggestion that other states will follow soon as it seems to give a message that Islam wants to punish people, which is wrong.
He was responding to a question on a report that the Pahang state’s Islamic Affairs Department (JAIP) may consider public caning for same-sex relations offences.
