Caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak's today suggested that the bread produced by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's bakery - The Loaf - may not have tasted good.
He said this could be among several reasons that led to the closure of all of its 12 branches in the country.
"But other bakeries have been doing well. Rotiboy is doing well, Gardenia is doing well even those selling “mee rebus” are doing well.
"If a business is not doing well or closes down, is it the government's fault? Perhaps the bread didn't taste good or the cost was too high. There could be many reasons," he said.
