Netflix is working on giving YOU the ultimate control over your favorite binge worthy shows. The streaming platform is reportedly working on offering viewers the ability to “choose your own adventure”. That’s right you’ll be able to decide how a story unfolds by the click of your remote!
Daily Mail reports that Netflix is running a trial on a children’s show first. A source told the paper, “We’re doing work on branch narratives so you are actually making choice as you watch...We’ll see how it plays out. It’s an experiment...For creators, it’s new territory.” Um, no, that’s a GAME CHANGER!
This is not only new territory for creators, but for actors, and audiences alike. What if YOU could decide who got of out prison on Orange is the New Black?! Imagine if Stranger Things character Barb DIDN’T have to end up dead in the Upside Down?! The power may SOON be in your hands.
And we’ve got more Stranger Things news where that came from. David Harbour who plays Chief Jim Hopper shared some unfortunate news on Instagram- the role of Joyce Byers has been recast! Not so fast- it’s not what you may think. David posted a photo of an adorable pomeranian and captioned the photo, “Bittersweet season 2 spoiler. Joyce has been recast for season2.” Clearly, he’s joking and thankfully Winona Ryder will be back for season 2.
Okay you guys- voice your thoughts below on this whole “choose your own adventure” feature coming to Netflix! What show do you hope gets this interactive storytelling? Then check out this video to see Tom Hiddleston defending his relationship with his ex Taylor Swift! As always, I’m your host Joslyn Davis, see you next time!
