Instagram Stories Can Now LIVE On Your Profile With New Feature

So guys it was just a few days ago we brought you the news that Snapchat was doing a total overhaul and now Instagram is stealing some thunder with it’s own upadate. Cue the drama!!! Okay, actually this doesn’t really seem that dramatic but would that make this story richer? Anywho, here are the details!
Here’s the scoop – IG stories have only been around since August of 2016 but my-oh-my have they rocked snapchat to the core. That said, one of the big issues with IG stories is that they have never shown up on people’s profiles (probably because they disappear in 24 hours and people really only look for permanent pics and vids on people’s profile pages).

But y’all today is a HUGE day because according to Fast Company…
Today, Instagram is introducing stories into profiles. But it isn’t just showing fresh, not-yet-vanished ones—it’s allowing you to rummage through all your stories, pick favorites and give them names, and then add them to a row at the top of your profile.
This is crazy! So basically translation here – IG stories can live on forever? I feel like I have to tell you guys that you can disable this feature if you don’t want people looking at your old stories. Is it just me or isn’t want makes IG stories special the fact that they eventually disappear into the ether?
And we’ve also gotta give a shout-out to Instagram’s big sis Facebook. FB is now officially welcoming literal kindergarteners onto Facebook messenger. Not to worry, Wired reports that it’ll have parental controls but a lot of people out there are slightly creeped out by the idea that children will be on the app. FB swears that Messenger Kids won’t have ads and that they won’t use the data kids input for advertising and that they will track the messages to be sure the kids are safe.
Listen I get why people are worried about 6 years olds being on Facebook, but honestly, think about it…it’s only a matter of time before they hop on the internet bandwagon so at least this seems somewhat regulated.
