Mark your calendars for summer 2017 because that’s when Niall Horan is planning on dropping his very first solo album.
I know summer sounds like it’s so far away, but it really isn’t! We just have to get through winter, spring, and then Niall’s debut album will be here before we know it!
If 2016 was the year of Zayn, then 2017 will DEFINITELY be the year of Niall. The singer has embraced the solo spotlight after releasing his first single and according to Entertainment Weekly, Niall is working on his first solo album that’s set to make its debut summer 2017.
The singer describes his album to have a QUOTE, “folk-with-pop feel to it.” But don’t expect all the songs to fall under that ‘folk-pop’ genre. Niall went on to explain that QUOTE, “Some of the songs are heavier than others. I play a bit of electric on some tracks and we obviously played around a lot with percussion stuff to build up the songs so there were a lot of things going on percussion wise.”
And when it comes to his vocals, the singer revealed that being the only singer on a track was a bit of a challenge for him. He said QUOTE, “The biggest challenge of making the album was making sure I could sing for that long. I did write the songs in my key so I didn’t try to make it too difficult for myself.” I mean, if you’re going to write your own song and sing on it, that’s the way to do it, right?
While Niall shared all this new information about his upcoming debut album, there are other things surrounding his music that he’s keeping a secret. Like a possible collaboration with British band Rudimental.
Early Wednesday, the group tweeted out, “’Get out the house! Get out the house! Get in the garage!’ Think this might be a hit @NiallOfficial” which made many believe a collaboration between the two is in the works, but Niall pretty much shut that down by responding to the tweet with “love how the press think we’re hinting at a collab with the lyrics ‘get out of the house’ HAHA.”
Well, I guess that settles it!
