This year’s VMA performances had us feeling “Good As Hell.”
Hey everyone, it’s Sussan Mourad with Clevver News and MTV’s Video Music Awards aired the other night and we honestly need to catch our breath after those breathtaking performances.
I mean, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus… *gasp* I already need to catch my breath and I didnt even name all the performances!
It was just a wild night in Newark, as all the hottest acts in Hollywood got together to make a night no one is soon to forget.
The night kicked off with one of the MOST talked about performances with none other than Miss Taylor Swift. She blessed us with her truly inspirational song “You Need To Calm Down” while also giving us a beautiful acoustic rendition of “Lover.”
Someone please call Joe Alwyn!
Some celebs also REALLY calmed down with her song, as many in the audience were jamming and having a great time. We are looking at you Gigi and Camila!
She later took home the award for “You Need To Calm Down” for Video of the Year. If only John Travolta could stop being a living meme, everything would have gone smoothly. Just so you guys know, he mistakenly tried to give the award to Drag Queen Jade Jolie. Yes, Jade does look A LOT like Taylor, but seriously? Either way, it was VMA gold.
We also got a super steamy performance from Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. But seriously, for the love of god JUST KISS ALREADY!
And while we’re talking about the best performances, Normani gave us serious “Motivation.”
Not even a massive wardrobe malfunction in the middle of her set could stop her from slaying the VMA stage.
Normani was doing everything from gymnastics to dancing to singing. And I have to say, our girl is a serious triple threat!
People on Twitter are even comparing her to a young Beyoncé, and surely Queen Bey would approve.
One person said quote, “YES NORMANI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The spirit of Bey runs through you. Didn’t even let a wardrobe malfunction stop her.
