One Direction’s commercial for their new fragrance “You & I” spoofs Mission Impossible and it’s kind of perfect. In the commercial, we first see the sacred bottle –aka the fragrance, but this is a dramatic read so bare with me people - in this secure room with laser beam protection when out of the rafters come ninja 1D members onto the premises, Tom Cruise style. They then begin to fight one another in order to obtain the fragranced potion and to defend their fans’ honor – well sort of. Creativity points for sure. It’s pretty hilarious. “You & I” is of course the name of their new fragrance in reference to their single by the same name. It is 1D’s second fragrance following “That Moment.”
“You & I” is marketed as a QUOTE - “bright, floral scent that is fresh and uplifting. Splashes of mango and refreshing grapefruit are combined with a heart of creamy osmanthus, exotic orchid and soft peony to offer a romantic signature.” Sounds romantic indeed and actually really makes me want to drink a Jamba Juice. Following the fragrance will be “You & I” candles, shower gel, body lotion, and gift sets all coming our way later this month on August 20th.
