One Direction are taking the world by storm one last time before their highly-dreaded hiatus and what better way to celebrate their 4-year run than with Ellen Degeneres, of course?
And if they thought for a minute they would get by without being asked about Zayn, relationships, or the elephant in the room, having songs written about them, they were sadly mistaken…
So let’s just say this video comes with a lotta dirt because Ellen wasted NO time in grilling the boys on everything we’ve all been wondering, so let’s start on a lighter note with the band’s killer performance of ‘Drag Me Down’.
1D treated Directioners to an outdoor concert of their hit off of Made In The A.M. and the screams were loud enough to pop a few ear drums. However, the whole being dragged down part came when Ellen sat down with the boys, who squeezed together on the couch, when she immediately joked that Zayn probably left the group so the rest of them could comfortably fit on the couch…
And we couldn’t agree more… Ellen asked the boys if they knew about Zayn leaving long before he announced it, to which Louis Tomlinson revealed QUOTE, “I mean I kind of think we had a feeling.” Liam Payne also revealed that the boys have talked to him a few times since he left, but that’s when Harry started feeling rather uncomfortable, yelling out, “Let’s make some jokes!”
And little did the boys know, the fun and games (and complete awkwardness) were only just beginning. Ellen challenged them to a game of ‘Never Have I Ever’ and things got heated starting with the first question, “Never Have I Ever had someone write a song about me…”
Ellen then went on to ask if any of the boys have ever made out with someone double their age, to which Liam replied "I Have” and Harry got awkward once again.
The band also revealed that none of them have dated someone another band member has dated, that Niall has used Harry’s toothbrush without him knowing, that Niall used to say he was Nick from Backstreet Boys and that everyone but Liam participated in a hotel pool skinny dip sesh. But the real kicker came when Harry made every Directioner’s fantasy come to life when Ellen asked if any of them have ever hooked up with a fan, to which he was the only lad showing the “I Have” side of his paddle, instantly replying, “I think mine’s broken!” SEE, ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN, GUYS. Ellen then wrapped up the game by thanking the three of them (not including Harry) for being so honest and 1D officially survived the brutal challenge.
But don’t think the lads would leave you Directioners hanging high and dry, because they’ve just dropped the ball on even MORE exciting news… and I’m talking literally because they ARE going to help ring in the dropping of the ball on New Year’s Eve, as they return to headline the Billboard Hollywood Party on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” with host Ryan Seacrest to ring in 2016!
We can officially look forward to a few more great months with One Direction, so prepare for a great rest of the year, but right now I want to know all your thoughts on the band’s time with Ellen, including their performance and all the comical tension so get the conversation going right down here in the comments section.
