Pete Davidson returns to Instagram with a giant “F*** You” to the internet.
We’re sure he means it with love.
Pete Davidson returned to social media yesterday with a video on Instagram to promote the return of SNL next week. In the video, Pete turned the cameras on the paparazzi who’ve basically been stalking him non-stop since he and Ariana Grande announced their engagement. Judging from the clip, we have a sneaking suspicion Pete’s getting tired of the never-ending photographs...
To be fair, if we had cameras in our face everytime we stepped out, we’d probably lose it to. Pete captioned the vid QUOTE, “NBC SNL back next week. F*ck the internet tho...”
Pete previously left Instagram and other social media platforms earlier in the summer after dealing with incessant trolling over his relationship and engagement to Ariana Grande. He explained to fans at the time QUOTE, “I just don't wanna be on Instagram anymore. Or any social media platform.” He also said that while he may return at some point, his thoughts on social media are that QUOTE, “the Internet is an evil place and it doesn't make me feel good.”
So if that’s the case, why did Pete return this week? Well, one theory is that he might be contractually obligated to promote SNL on his social media platforms. Another is that he genuinely wants to celebrate SNL’s return, but that he wants to make it clear that he’s not happy about having to use social media in order to do so.
Whatever his reasons, we don’t blame Pete for having frustrations over the internet, because constantly dealing with trolling, rumors, and a million opinions from haters wouldn’t be fun for anyone.
