All dogs throughout Sarawak will be vaccinated against rabies as the state steps up efforts to prevent the further spread of the disease.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah told reporters at a vaccination exercise at MJC Batu Kawa near Kuching on Saturday.
He said there was a need to expand the vaccination programme to non-affected areas in the state after a dog sample from Julau in Sarikei division tested positive for rabies on Dec 29 last year.
