A group of low-cost flat residents has demanded the government to fulfill its GE15 manifesto promise to assume responsibility for the maintenance of low-cost flats.
Today, 25 representatives from 61 flats gathered at the Ministry of Local Government Development to submit a memorandum to the ministry representative.
The group, known as Gabungan Flat Kos Rendah MARHAEN (GFKR), urged the government to replace the monthly maintenance fee of low-cost flats with assessment rates, which would be more affordable for the B40 community residing in such apartments.
The Harapan's GE15 manifesto, titled "Harapan Homes for People," assured the takeover of maintenance duties to ensure residents' safety and enhance their living conditions.
