Rihanna Cancels Concert While in France During Terror Attack

A driver of a large white truck mowed down a crowd gathered to watch Bastille Day fireworks in Nice, France, on Thursday night. Scores of people were killed and injured in what the French president called a terrorist attack.
Rihanna was in the city to preparing for a concert Friday night as a part of her Anti Tour. Billboard magazine reports that her rep has confirmed that she is safe but in the wake of events they are trying to get her out of the city ASAP.
The pop star wrote on instagram that her concert ”would not be going ahead as planned... due to the tragic events". She went on to say that “her thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
Jamie Dornan, Dokata Johnson and the rest of the Fifty Shades of Grey cast and crew were also in the city filming when the attack happened. The producer of the movie confirmed that everyone is safe and sound.
Many figures from the entertainment world have expressed shock at the news. Comedian Amy Shumer tweeted “Enough #prayfornice.”
Kim Kardashian also expressed her sympathies saying “ Finally home & seeing the news. My heart goes out to everyone in Nice. Lots of prayers being sent your way. God the world needs you”
