Celebrities are sharing their sadness, love and outrage about the recent terror attack in Barcelona, which left at least 13 dead and dozens more injured.
Another shocking terrorist attack has struck the globe, this time in Barcelona, Spain. Similar to the attack that hit London earlier this year, an unidentified man plowed a van through a crowd of people in the tourist-friendly Las Ramblas district in Barcelona today. The man killed at least 13 people, and at least 64 others were injured in the attack. While the investigation is ongoing and not many details have been revealed just yet, police have reportedly arrested one man in connection with the van attack, while another is said to have died in a shootout with police.
Many people took to Twitter to express their devastation and shock over the attack, including a number of celebrities.
Jennifer Lopez tweeted out her thoughts to the city en Español, writing QUOTE, “Enviándole mucho amor y paz a la gran ciudad de #Barcelona y toda su gente hermosa. #barcelonaContigo #barcelonaAmbTu”, which translates to “Sending much love and peace to the great city of #Barcelona and all its beautiful people” in English.
Meanwhile Frozen’s Josh Gad tweeted QUOTE, “I am beyond devastated for the incredible city of #Barcelona & it's amazing people. Thoughts and prayers to all.” Many other celebs also shared their thoughts and prayers, while Jake T. Austin encouraged action with his tweet, writing QUOTE, “Now is the time that we must come together and put an end to the senseless violence. Stay strong. Te amo mucho #Barcelona”.
And Trevor Moran tweeted what most of us were all thinking when we heard the news of the attack, writing QUOTE, “My heart is with you, #Barcelona. It saddens me to see more & more violence happening at a rapid pace.”
Idina Menzel also expressed something all of us can relate to during this tragic time with her Tweet, “Sending love to my friends in Barcelona. Feeling helpless.”
