Ryan Reynolds hilariously welcomes Josh Brolin to Deadpool 2
Ryan Reynolds just spoke for all of us, because lets be real, we were all a little confused by this news
After months of casting and numerous considered for the part, Josh Brolin has landed the role of Cable, making this his SECOND role in a Marvel movie. Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds, took to Twitter to share his hilarious reaction to the casting news.
Reynolds tweeted QUOTE “The f—, Fox! You can't play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch”
Now that’s not actually true, and the Avengers don’t actually exist in the same universe as Deadpool, but the tweet definitely echoed the confusion that a lot of people felt when the news first dropped. Josh Brolin’s role as Thanos, first introduced in 2014’s Guardians of The Galaxy, is about to become a huge part in Avengers: Infinity War, and according to various sources, Brolin allegedly signed a four-movie deal for Deadpool, so we’re getting a whole lot of Brolin. Sounds good to me. The character of Cable might be the perfect onscreen foil to Deadpool, and Josh Brolin and Ryan Reynolds kinda seem like they’d be nothing short of perfect together on screen.
And speaking of perfect duos, the trailer for The Hitman’s Bodyguard starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson has dropped online. The action packed trailer introduces us to Ryan’s character, who is tasked with protecting a dangerous hitman, played by Samuel L. Jackson.
It wouldn’t be the right Reynolds movie without some comedy, right? The Hitman’s Bodyguard drops in August, but we’ll have to wait until 2018 to see the Deadpool sequel. Time to rewatch the first one… for the 700th time.
In the meantime, I want to know what you all thought of Ryan’s tweets about Josh Brolin’s casting. Thanks so much for hanging out with me here on Clevver News, I’m your host Sinead de Vries, and I’ll see you guys next time.
