If you’re like me, you can’t wait for Deadpool 2 to hit theaters and it looks like Blake Lively can’t wait either. For the New York premiere last night, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively looked striking together, but we couldn’t help but notice Blake’s outfit. While Ryan opted out of dressing like his Marvel character for the carpet, Blake stepped up in a Deadpool inspired outfit that re-affirmed the fact that they are couple goals. Gestures like this and more clearly don’t go unnoticed because when talking to Vanity Fair, Ryan, who is also a co-writer on the film, revealed that Blake and his daughters were the inspiration for this sequel. He said QUOTE, “My family is everything to me, and that’s what brought about Deadpool 2. Actually, for [screenwriters] Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and myself—we’ve been friends for 10 years, and in that time we all acquired families and sort of grown up a little bit. So we wanted to write that into the story. The idea of love and family is what’s in Deadpool 2, even though I am still as immature as fuck!” Isn’t that what it’s all about folks. Love. Ryan goes on to specifically give his wife some credit and explains how she was there for him while Deadpool was getting rejected by countless studio executives. When speaking about his wife, he said QUOTE, “She’s immeasurably made my life better. She’s my best friend. I absolutely love and respect her. She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” Definitely should have brought a tissue box in here because I’m getting emotional. All jokes aside, Ryan clearly loves his wife of almost six years. Oh and by the way, we might want to refer to him as Mr. Lively from now on. In a promo for the new movie ‘Book Club’, Diane Keaton refers to Ryan Reynolds as Mr. Lively and Ryan responded in the most adorable way when chatting with ET last night saying, "Oh, I'm Mr. Lively 24/7 and I'm happy about it. It's great. [It's the] best gig."
Well even though we’ve had a lot of breakups this year, it’s good to see that Blake and Ryan are still going strong. Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 18th. In the meantime, what do you think about what Ryan had to say about Blake? Let me know in the comment section below and then click right over here to see Channing Tatum GUSH over Jenna Dewan on Mother’s Day.
