Movement for Change, Sarawak (MoCS) leader Francis Paul Siah has joined calls asking the Sarawak state government to be more efficient when dealing with the applications of thousands of ordinary Sarawakians without identity documents.
This comes after Sarawak Governor Abdul Taib Mahmud’s Syrian-born wife, Ragad Waleed Alkurdi, along with her two children from a previous relationship, have been reportedly accorded native bumiputera status in the state.
According to Francis, their race is now “Melanau,” as stated in their new Malaysian identity cards, which were issued last November.
Francis also says he's hoping that the state government would offer an explanation on the matter.
