Shawn Mendes may have just released his latest album a few months ago, but it appears he’s already working on new music.
On Tuesday night, Shawn posted a 22-second clip of him singing a never-before-heard song. The video shows just a black screen with the audio of his voice and a piano, but it sounds amazing already.
And of course, fans are already begging the singer for a studio version. While it’s definitely a possibility that the song could appear on his next album, fans might have to wait awhile for it considering he just released an album in May. But hey, at least we can listen to this clip on a loop until that day comes.
Although it might be awhile before Shawn releases his next album, a possible collaboration could be coming soon.
Back in May, Zedd confirmed that he and the 19-year-old were working together. When iHeartRadio tweeted that they needed a Zedd and Shawn Mendes collab, he replied QUOTE: “You will get it :)”
He didn’t say when we would get it, but judging from his recent Twitter activity, it could be any day now.
On Monday, the EDM producer posted a clip of himself adding his own spin on Shawn’s song, “Lost in Japan.” He gave the song a whole new sound when he played the keyboard over Shawn’s voice track, and fans were living for it.
It’s not technically a collaboration, but it could be a sign that the real one is coming soon. At least that’s what fans are hoping.
