The Stranger Things kids are cooler and more mature than most adults I know--but what else is new?
The Stranger Things kids, minus Millie Bobby Brown, went on The Late Late Show with James Corden and showed off their Motown singing skills in a hilarious sketch where they reunite as Motown Super Group, The Upside Downs.
Um, can they please make this a real thing and make an album and go on tour because this is EVERYTHING. They sang a medley of “I want you back”, “My Girl”, and “Reach Out (I’ll be There)”, and all the guys SLAYED their solo parts…
Damn, Gaten! Maybe you should have sung the Demagorgon to sleep last season.
While the Stranger Things kids have clearly been having a blast while promoting season 2, it hasn’t all been fun and games. Finn Wolfhard, the 14-year-old actor who plays Mike on the show, was recently harassed and called “rude” all over social media because he ignored some fans who were waiting outside his hotel to meet with him. Okay this should probably go without saying, but ADULTS waiting outside a CHILD’S hotel to meet him is straight up creepy on every level, and Finn being an actor on a hit show does not excuse that kind of invasion of privacy and harassment.
Luckily Finn’s castmates and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner all stood up for him, pointing out how wrong it is for people to slam the child actor for his choice to not engage with fans outside his hotel.
But it seems like Finn isn’t the only Stranger Things actor getting harassed by zealous fans lately, because the young actor took to Twitter to address those who have been harassing him AND his fellow castmates, tweeting QUOTE, “Hey everybody! I don't wanna ex-communicate anyone from this fandom, but if you are for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers. Ya'll know who you are”, followed by QUOTE, “Why I even have to tweet that, I don't know. Anyone who calls themselves a "fan" and actively goes after someone for literally acting and doing their job is ridiculous. Think b4 ya type boiiii”.
One fan responded to Finn’s tweets perfectly, writing QUOTE, “it's sad that we live in a world where a minor has to act like an adult because adults are harassing minors.”
Couldn’t agree more. Seriously, it’s cool to be a huge fan of Stranger Things and its stars, but if you really wanna be a fan just watch the damn show and remember that above all else, the young stars of the show are KIDS first, and actors second.
Alright guys now I wanna know what YOU think of the cast’s motown medley, and how sad is it that Finn actually has to ask fans to stop harassing his castmates?
